AICM Uganda 2022 Gala “A Night of Hope”
In 2022, Rennacker Studio embarked on an extraordinary creative endeavor alongside AICM Uganda, an organization devoted to bettering the lives of children in Uganda. Our mission was to craft an array of marketing materials for their second annual gala, aptly named "A Night of Hope." AICM Uganda set a lofty fundraising goal of $50,000, representing a bold 30% increase from the prior year’s matriculated donations. Together, we achieved an impressive $52,457, bringing a glimmer of hope to the lives of countless Ugandan families.
Creating a Compelling Logo
Our journey began with the development of the event logo. The challenge was to encapsulate the very essence of "A Night of Hope" in a single visual identity. We embarked on a journey of understanding AICM's core mission and values. After numerous brainstorming sessions and design iterations, we unveiled a captivating typographic logo. This emblem not only symbolized Uganda but also evoked the spirit of childhood and hope. It became the unifying symbol for the entire event, resonating deeply with both organizers and attendees alike.
Inspiring Environmental Posters
Upon entering the gala's registration lobby, attendees were greeted by a gallery of 24x36 posters featuring the poignant photography of Mary Jo Tait. These striking images of the people of Uganda, harmoniously adorned with AICM's core values—Evangelize, Empower, Educate, Equip—struck a powerful emotional chord. The posters transformed the lobby into a heartfelt narrative, connecting attendees on a profound level with AICM's mission.
Guiding the Evening with a Program and Menu
The event program was crafted meticulously to guide attendees through the evening seamlessly. This program featured a clear, concise order of events, including a heartfelt story from a member of the village in Uganda that empowered attendees to fully immerse themselves in the cause.
On the reverse side of the program, the menu was thoughtfully designed to offer diverse options, catering to a range of dietary preferences. This ensured that every attendee had a delightful culinary experience catered by a locally renowned chef.
Multipronged Invitation Strategy
Reaching diverse segments of our audience required a multifaceted invitation strategy. We designed a traditional 5x7 save-the-date card, perfect for distribution within congregations. For corporate sponsors, we prepared a versatile digital PDF that offered sponsorship opportunities detailed larger 8-seat table reservation options for the organization. Engaging the online audience was equally essential, which led to the creation of captivating social media invitations tailored for platforms like Facebook and Instagram. To complement this, presentation slides were meticulously designed to effectively communicate general admission pricing and ticket purchase information for live delivery. This multipronged invitation approach widened AICM Uganda's reach, drawing in diverse attendees and sponsors.
Elevating the Online Presence
Recognizing the significance of a strong online presence, we revitalized AICM Uganda's website banner. The new banner served as a visually compelling introduction to the gala, featuring key event details. This strategic redesign effectively attracted visitors to the website, generating increased interest and engagement surrounding the event.
Sustaining Momentum on Social Media
To keep the gala in the forefront of the audience's minds, we executed a carefully planned social media strategy. Over the course of the campaign, we rolled out 19 engaging social media posts and 19 matching stories. These posts adhered to a well-structured content calendar that balanced emotional stories, event updates, and speaker highlights. Consistency in visuals reinforced the gala's identity, successfully expanding AICM Uganda's reach beyond its core audience.
Seamless Event Organization with Place Cards and Number Cards
Ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for attendees was crucial. Thus, we designed elegant place cards for corporate tables and number cards for general admission tables. These cards featured intuitive designs, streamlining the check-in process and ensuring attendees could comfortably locate their designated tables.
Capturing Keynote Speaker Essence
A pivotal moment prior to the gala was the 3/4 length portrait photoshoot of each of the keynote speakers that was done the day prior to the event, given that some of the speakers were traveling from Uganda. Our goal was to capture the essence of each speaker with joy. AICM Uganda is a non-profit that focuses on hope — we wanted that to come through in each portrait. These striking portraits added an element of authenticity and connection to the event, drawing attendees closer to the powerful stories shared by each of the speakers.
A Seamless Presentation Deck
The presentation deck played a pivotal role in guiding the evening's proceedings. It featured visual cues for speakers, auction instructions, and sponsor recognition, ensuring a smooth and professional flow to the event.
Honoring Sponsors
The sponsor board was a heartfelt expression of gratitude, showcasing the organizations and individuals whose generous contributions had brought the gala to life. These elements collectively enhanced the event's professionalism and fostered an atmosphere of appreciation.
Documenting Memorable Moments
An essential aspect of preserving the evening's magic was comprehensive event photography. Our skilled photographers discreetly captured candid moments of attendees, keynote speakers, and heartfelt moments of celebration, immortalizing the 2022 gala in the minds of all attendees. These event photos not only served as cherished mementos but also as a powerful testament to AICM Uganda's impactful work, inspiring continued support.
Silent Auction Success
AICM Uganda's silent auction during the gala was a resounding success, with all but two of the 88 items sold. Notably, the highest-selling item was a Rennacker Art piece, which fetched an impressive $775. The silent auction alone contributed nearly $20,000 in pure profit to AICM Uganda, as every item had been generously donated.
